So, at the 10th meeting in this course, we will continue the 8 elements of culture and business practices in the countries we have chosen. I will explain a little bit about the 4 countries that have been presented.

The first presenter was Sri Nurah, she presented material about Philippines. The Philippines has a democratic government in the form of a constitutional republic with a presidential system. The majority of religions in this country are Catholic 80%, followed by Protestants 12%, Islam 5.6, other 2.4%.

Business hours are generally from 8 a.m to 5 p.m including an hour break for lunch. Mid-morning or afternoon meetings are preferred, and a follow-up call to confirm the meeting a day before is recommended. Filipinos are relaxed about time. Allow for at least fifteen minutes leeway before your Filipino contact arrives for an appointment. For VIPs, waiting time could be longer.

The second presenter was Nurmalasari, she presented material about Turkey. Government system in Turkey, namely the legislative, judicial, and executive branch. Most of the market economy in Turkey is growing, both in industry and in the service sector. The majority of religions in Turkey follow Islam 89.5%.

Should be made at least two weeks ahead and confirmed a day or two before the meeting is due to take place. If there is some doubt about the outcome of negotiations this should not be expressed too negatively and the word ‘no’ is best avoided.

The last presenter was A.Israq. He presented material about USA. There are 4 Social Groups in the USA:

    1.) Upper class

Which makes up about one percent of the U.S population, generally consists of those with vast inherited wealth (sometimes called “old money”)

    2.) Middle Class

The middle class includes the 46% of all households whose annual incomes range from $50,000 to $199,999.

    3.) The Working Class

Working-class households have annual incomes between about $25,000 and $49,999 and constitute about 25% of all U.S. households.

    4.) Lower Class

Although lower class is a common term, many observers prefer a less negative-sounding term like the poor, which is the term used here. The poor have household incomes under $25,000 and constitute about 25% of all U.S. households.

According to a survey in 2007, about 78.4% of adults in the US identify as Christian. And English is the primary language, although US English uses a slightly different vocabulary to its British variant.

That's all I can tell you guys at this time, Thank you and see you later. ~
