So, at the 13th meeting in this course, We will continue the 8 elements of culture and business practices in the countries we have chosen. I will explain a little bit about the 4 countries that have been presented.

So, The first presenter was Khoiriyatul. She presented material about Iceland. The presenter explained that Iceland is one of the Nordic countries, and Iceland is known for its nature as well as its many cultures and traditions. One of the most famous traditions from Iceland is Bolludagur. Icelandic society uses the Icelandic language or what is known as íslenska. Then, it was also explained that this country is the safest country in the world, this is because its people are very obedient to existing regulations. Even this country doesn't have an army.

The second presenter was Dewi Anggita. She presented material about Russia. The presenter explained that social groups in Russia are grouped into classes based on their economy. The first is the Upper Class, then the Middle Class, the Working Class, and the Peasants.  This country is the largest country in the world and Russian Ruble is the currency in Russia.

The third presenter was St.Aisyah. She presented material about Netherlands. The presenter explained that Dutch is the official language in the Netherlands. And also there are 8 social groups in Netherlands:

The last material in this meeting is South Korea. This material presented by me. I explained that there are several social groups in South Korea.

  1. The history of the Korean clan that doesn't just appear
  2. Then the unique fact of the surname or family name in Korea is placed in front followed by a nickname, In Korea, a child's clan is determined by his father's clan ownership. So that when women marry, they do not switch clans. When opposed to Indonesian and Western cultures, where a wife's name is often referred to by her husband's last name
  3. There is still no gender equality
  4. Beauty and good looks are exchanged for money
South Korea is a republic. As in other democracies, South Korea divides its government into three parts: the executive, the judiciary and the legislature. South Korea is a market economy that ranks fifteenth in the world in terms of GDP. Trains, buses, ferries and airlines serve as transportation in South Korea. The International Airport Council named Incheon Airport as the best airport in the world.

Most of the South Korean people choose no religion or atheism. We can see that Christianity is the religion that has the largest adherent in South Korea, which is 29.4%. The other largest religion is Buddhism at 22.9%. It was continued with 1% shamanism, 1% Hinduism, 1% Judaism, 1% Islam and 1% other religions. The language used by the people of South Korea is Korean which is commonly called hangugeo.

~ Business Practice in South Korea :

  1. Plan ahead of time and provide plenty of notice for your meeting and Arrive on time
  2. Allow the senior Korean to instigate business discussions
