1st Activity Intercultural Communication ~ Massenrempulu and Makassar Tribes

Hello guys, long time no see. Welcome back to my blog :) .

This time I will tell you about intercultural communication learning on March 2, 2021. So at the third meeting of this course, we were prepared to present the various tribes in South Sulawesi. The first group described the Mansenrempulu Tribe, which is one of the tribes in Enrekang Regency. Enrekang Regency is one of the regions in the province of South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The languages used by this tribe are Indonesian, Buginese and Duri languages.

In the wedding tradition, this tribe is not the same as wedding traditions in general, in South Sulawesi. The Massenrempulu tribe does not have ceremonies like mappacci, korontigi, lekka, and others. Women's families are also very embarrassed if their daughters are proposed with material which is very expensive. In the past, the religion adopted by this tribe was an animist religion called Alu 'Tojolo. And the livelihoods of the Massenrempulu tribe are mostly farmers.

Then the second group describes the Makassar Tribe, or Mangkasara 'which means "Those who are open". The language used by the Makassar tribe is Makassar or Mangkasara '. There are several principles in the Makassar Tribe, the first is "Teai mangksara 'punna bokona loko'" (Not Makassar people if the one is injured in the back), the second "Ku alleanngi tallanga na toalia" (it's better to drown than to return), and many more.

The traditional house of the Makassar tribe is called "Balla", the traditional clothing of this tribe is called "Baju Bodo". There are 2 traditional dances for this tribe, namely the Pakkarena dance and the Gandrang Bulo dance. Gandrang (drum) is a traditional musical instrument in the Makassar tribe. As for the Makassar tribal marriage custom, namely, "A'jangang-jangang" (Ma'manu'-manu '). "A'suro" (Massuro) or apply. "A'pa'nassar" (Patenreada ') or specify the day. "A'panaiLeko 'Lompo" (erang-erang) or betel nut. "A'barumbung" (Mappesau) or steam bath, carried out for 3 (three) days. "Appassili pregnant" (Cemmemappepaccing) or siraman and "A'bubbu" (shaving the fine hair of the prospective bride). "Akkorontigi" (Mappacci) or girlfriend night. "Assimorong" or the marriage contract. "Allekka ' bunting" (Marolla) or mundumantu. "Appa'bajikang bunting" or unite the bride and groom.

That's all I can say today, good-bye and thank you~
